Liv Beckman has swept the shattered pieces of her past under a rug that she then rolled up and burned before walking away to start anew. As long as she never looks back, she is able to move forward.
After ten years, Liv thrives as a background vocalist for a variety of recording artists. Unrecognizable in public, she is able to do as she pleases without fear of paparazzi following her every move. The small town locals only know her as the girl who can sing.
Then one day her first kiss enters the little recording studio where Liv works, and the past she thought could never affect her again is suddenly staring her in the face.
Neal Hendrix, musician, never forgot the little cutie from his first day at a new high school. The pretty girl who made him lose control and steal a kiss right there in the crowded hallway.
After ten years, he isn't expecting she'll ever appear before him again, but he is definitely determined to get another mysterious woman -- this one with an enchanting vocal range -- to sign a recording contract.
It's a big project for a popular gaming enterprise, and Neal already arranged a few of the tracks, but without this woman's vocals being added, he doesn't believe it will pay off.
Undaunted by her agent's constant no's, Neal travels to Michigan and a popular tourist destination on Lake Michigan's shoreline to meet this woman in person. He'll pay her whatever she asks if he can get her to work with him.
When he enters the recording studio and sees that it is the girl he had once kissed on impulse, Neal can't believe his eyes.
Or his luck.
Finding her again was a shock, but her reaction to seeing him again is even more of a surprise -- to his ego. And thinking that money would persuade her to sing for him only makes matters worse.

Liv is as determined to avoid Neal as he is to get a signed contract, and it won't be easy for the discordant pair to find harmony.
