    Joy is the tale of a plucky bunch of moderately terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial. If you think you have what it takes to blend in and try to survive in a society that hates Downers, then come and join us in the procedural world of Wellington Wells.
    
    Piper Edwards is a resident of Wellington Wells, the society in which you shall take you pills of Joy to stay happy and out of trouble. What happens when she stops taking her Joy? What happens when she meets a love interest?
    
    Ethan Karpathy is a young adolescent who is still adapting to the society of Wellington Wells after his family disaster. What happens when he runs out of Joy? What happens when he meets a love interest?
    
    The residents of the city, seeking to forget an unspeakable horror they committed, forced by the government to begin taking a hallucinogenic drug called 'Joy' that makes them happy, but also leaves them easily controlled and lacking morality and understanding of the long-term consequences of their actions.  You will be know as a 'Downer' after choosing to stop using Joy, and must try to survive long enough to complete something important and personal to themselves, all while trying to escape the city before the impending social collapse.
