There was always an allure to the darkness, a kind of twisted sense of belonging he felt every time he was touched by it. Harry Potter was the brave hero, the boy who lived, the boy who would defeat Voldemort. The more titles that were added to his name, the more alluring that little speck of darkness was. Creeping by, innocent of any action to lure him into the tangled web that wrapped around him. No. He did that himself. Dancing in the web, wrapping soft silk around him, allowing himself the comfort it brought.

Draco was sick. He was changing, he could feel it. He was angry, more so than before, but nothing incited his anger. He heard heartbeats around him constantly, could hear it when someone lied to him. It was disturbing how often it happened. So this was the punishment his parents brought down on him? The bite was painful, only growing worse the closer it came to those days. Like a burden tugging down his shoulders.

Two souls, torn from the routines they had grown use to. Thrown into a grey area that held no comfort of friends, no allies in their corners. Two souls who clashed, pushed and pulled.
