After the disaster known only as the Collapse, the extremely small population clings to life in ruined cities thanks to advanced technology. In a world blanketed in wastelands, existence is but an empty shell of what it once was, and time continues unabated. A boy in this age has looked around himself and seen only hopelessness and sorrow. After years of inner struggle, he has finally come upon the conclusion that humanity is destined only for destruction, and that he wants to witness this end. Soon afterwards he comes across the power of God himself and must decide if the human race deserves salvation and rebirth - or if he will bring about its end with his own hands. I led the perfect life with my family. But one harsh winter we're forced to steal a sheep from the humans living near by. In revenge the humans come after us, forcing me away from my family, my pack. In a state of panic I enter another pack's territory, and end up becoming one of them. I landed myself in a mess. The alphas of that pack died, and Mate, whom I'd met at the pack, and I are the only couple, and so the only ones who can take over the post of parents. Leading the pack through the seasons and time, we end up in the same situation as my old pack. We are forced to steal. And humans aren't keen on sharing. Every night, I've looked out my window, just watching for it. They say the monster you see is better than the monster you don't. But, no one who's seen this monster has been able to describe it for us. No one's survived to. For some reason though, I can't help but look. I bet that's why the tourists don't come back from the woods, because they can't stop themselves from looking. That's how it catches them. I hope it doesn't catch me.Complete
Haley's Story: Freshmen Year
Two words: High School. Yep, the big BIG ocean filled with all kinds of fish. Seniors, sophomores, juniors, and then me... I never thought middle school would go by so fast. Just three years of being fun and reckless. Then I get news that it's all over and I have to move cities and go to high school. Become more mature for my age. Then I say in my head: "I'm only still 14, I mean...I'm still a kid at heart, and you can't take that away from me." But you can seperate me from my friends and put me in an entirely different habitat. Yeah, sadly that's that's what life can do... I sometimes wonder if it was done for a reason.
