Amiah Penn Guzman is considered a tomboy in her group of friends labeled the "CRU". Because majority of the CRU are boys, Amiah developed a boyish character. One normal day like any other, after a work-out session with the CRU, her mother pins the restless child with words.

"I have arranged a blind date for you."

Because of her inexperience in dating, she attempts to jump out of the window in defiance. Amiah's grandmother informed her that it is for their sake, not to mention, the well-known Hooper family sponsored the fateful event. Hesitantly, she agrees only to realize the event was originally a blind marriage and her partner was the last person she ever wanted to spend her entire life with.

Aria DeLang is cursed with three things: crippling social anxiety, Sasquatch height, and clothes that don't fit right. Basketball is the only place she feels normal. That's where she discovers her ticket out of lonerville-mastering the art of making guy friends. "Actual"guy friends aren't just biding their time until they can get in your pants. In fact, the thought doesn't even cross their minds, but you know what does? Sports, sex with "actual" girls, food, and maybe WWII. Aria successfully infiltrates the male mafia through trickery, a diabolic formula, and by exploiting their shared love for the game of basketball. Things were going pretty great until Taylor Arroyo and Roscoe Tate, the Princes of Pepperwood High, crash her best friend's pool party. That's when Aria unwittingly breaks her #1 rule: "Do not remind your guy friends that you're a potential mate." That means: No sexual innuendos or behaviors. Show them as little skin as possible, you want to hide in plain sight. But the damage is done. Suddenly, they can't unsee what's been under their noses since elementary school: Aria DeLang is a GIRL?!?!?! When she shows up for school the next day, the delicate balance between her and the male ecosytem has been broken and she can't figure out why. As Aria learns to wield her newfound power over the men in her life, she must fight to restore the balance before it's too late. There's just one problem with that-what do you do when you catch feelings for two Princes of Pepperwood? Bad boys: people view them as unfit fathers. Why? Well, their bad boy lifestyle of course. That's where Asher Cain comes in. Throughout his whole high school life, he was that mysterious bad boy player. Drugs, underage drinking, sleeping around.. That's what he got into. And then we have the innocent one: Juliet Harp. Juliet falls for his charm and ends up falling into bed with him too. It wasn't like a high school fling, it was more of a I've-just-got-out-of-a-relationship and I-want-to-have-a-one-night-stand sort of fling. That's essentially what it was, fresh out of high school and fresh out of a relationship. Juliet found herself in bed with Asher and then, a few months down the line, finds herself pregnant with his baby. They weren't ever really friends, just acquaintances. Well, Juliet dies when her daughter, Victoria, was only four. And you'll never guess which doorstep Victoria finds herself at? - Highest ranks in Short Story: #22 (21st December 2018) COVER CREDIT: peakybooo (so amazing, I cri)
