Pulling up to this giant house, with the cliche white picket fence and everything, I knew that this was not the place for me. But I had no choice. Grandmother had decided it was best for me and there was nothing I could have said or done to change her mind. This was going to be my new home. 

Meet Nicole, also known as Nikki. When her mother died in a car wreck when she was only 2 years old, her father decided that he could not take care of her. So he shipped her away to her grandparents house. 

Now, at the age of 17, her grandfather has passed away and she has been living with just her grandmother for the last few years. 

But when Nikki gets a letter from her father and her grandmother having many medical problems of her own, her grandmother decides that it's not best for Nikki to continue living with her. So Nikki is sent back to her father who has remarried and continued his life without her being a part of it. 

But nobody told her that she was returning to a house where she will have 4 step brothers and one step sister. How will Nikki handle not only the move back in with her father that abandoned her but the news that she now has 5 siblings to also learn how to live with?(CC) Attrib. NonCommercial

"Please answer the phone, it's obviously important. It could even be Lori looking for you." His head turned to me so quickly, I thought he would get whiplash. "So that's what's this is all about?! Who told you she was back?" he said with an agitated voice. I said nothing but looked at his phone then said, "answer it and I'll tell you everything if you will answer one question for me, truthfully." He reached for the phone, and I tried to leave. As he answered the phone, he yanked me back to my spot on his lap and said loudly for who ever was on the phone to hear, "Stay. Put. Nicole. If you move from my lap, I will throw this phone against the wall and if it doesn't break, whoever is on the line will hear everything that I will say and do to you. Do I make myself clear?"
