Pulling up to this giant house, with the cliche white picket fence and everything, I knew that this was not the place for me. But I had no choice. Grandmother had decided it was best for me and there was nothing I could have said or done to change her mind. This was going to be my new home. 

Meet Nicole, also known as Nikki. When her mother died in a car wreck when she was only 2 years old, her father decided that he could not take care of her. So he shipped her away to her grandparents house. 

Now, at the age of 17, her grandfather has passed away and she has been living with just her grandmother for the last few years. 

But when Nikki gets a letter from her father and her grandmother having many medical problems of her own, her grandmother decides that it's not best for Nikki to continue living with her. So Nikki is sent back to her father who has remarried and continued his life without her being a part of it.
