When Dawn, a thirteen year old girl from Arizona, goes on a camping trip, she has no idea what she's in for. After leaving the campsite alone to take a walk, she's suddenly being chased down by a horrific wolflike creature. Just when all hope is lost, it is Amethyst the griffin that saves her. Amethyst has had strict orders from her king to bring him back the first human she finds, which happens to be Dawn.
