Aequalis, they called it, the only place left after the Great War.  A place where everything was equal, and no one had to work or beg for money. There was no shopping, no paying for anything...there was just peace. Or so it was supposed to be. The Council kind of ruined that for us, but at least we were well looked after...unless the Council decided to kidnap kids and use them for their own gain. But then again, when would they really ever do that unless you were on their list? I certainly knew that I wasn't...or so I thought.All Rights Reserved

We knew something wasn't right from the moment we awoke. It was like something was missing - a part of our very souls - and we couldn't sense the deficiency, no matter how hard we tried. A hundred million eyes adjusted to the dark all at once, all surprised to be awakened so soon. We ran through our checklists of limbs and senses, drawing ourselves out of our dreams piece by piece. Some went back to sleep, unaware, unbothered, too tired to notice the difference. Some lay in bed, too anxious to stand until the light of dawn crept through their windows at last, and they were sure the monsters in their closets had gone back to sleep. Some leapt from their slumbers, more keenly aware than others that the missing pieces were important. But we didn't know. We couldn't have. Not until we found ourselves standing in the light and discovered: We no longer had shadows.

Until one day his brother killed him in cold blood and locked Victoria up in a cell. When she turned 18 she was offered a deal. Each year Alancia holds a fighting tournament for public display. The biggest and the baddest fight in this tournament and barely make it out alive. She has to fight in this tournament and if she won she had her freedom back. If she lost she would loose her freedom once again. Victoria knows she can't pass up this opportunity up. Even though she would be reminiscing old memories And meeting someone who can ruin it all Whatever the cost is she is willing to fight.
