Eren has always been into diving ever since him and his dad bonded over it when the Olympics were on one summer, a long time ago. He has been on his school's diving team ever since and, for a while, even trained for the Olympics. After his beloved father dies, however, his mom refuses to keep them in the same house and moves him to a new state, new town and a new school where he meets a new friend who just so happens to be on a diving team with a really intimidating captain.
Hi I love you all but I WROTE THIS WHEN I DIDN'T KNOW HANJI WAS NON-BINARY. Thank you all so much for pointing this out as it is an important detail but I would rather not go back through the story and edit it. Let's just collectively headcanon that their pronouns are she/her in this fic. Please and thank you stop commenting bc I know ❤️
