I flew past the trees only seeing a green blur. The rain hitting my body felt like bullets as they stung my many cuts and gashes that were fresh along my body. I gagged at the smell of my own blood and slowed my pace as I became weaker by the second. I thought I had gotten away. Away from that hell hole where my pack and mate beat me and treated me like their slave. I was so close. I could see the black flag marking the end of our packs territory just ahead of me. Book 2 in Stray Series. I know I'm not worthy of a second chance. I've taken away so many others' second chances. I took their lives in my hands and each time chose mine over theirs.
