Roberta Carson is your average high school wallflower standing on the sidelines instead of being in the mix. She takes the safe route with her small group of friends, while maintaining perfection in everything non-social. So you can imagine what she feels like when her parents tell her that their going on a cruise for spring break. She's insistent on not going, arguing that it makes no sense to go on a ship with hundreds of people, just to pig out at the buffet and lay on the beach. For one, she doesn't eat, and two, she burns.

Roberta has the thought stuck in her head that this family vacation is going to be a complete bust. That is until she meets Hunter-- laid back, sarcastic, and always egging her on. When she sees his perspective on life, Roberta not only becomes open-minded but is thrown into a series of events that make her realize the person that she needs to be. But, when this is all over will she walk away with love and happiness or will all of this come crumbling down and leave her heartbroken?

"Sometimes, the only soul that can mend a broken heart is the one that broke it. For they are the ones holding all the pieces." - Patti Roberts, The Angels are Here.
