It's always the reader who falls in love with the characters while reading a book. I'm here to let you know that it can be different. We. We all want to feel. We all want to feel the fire of love. No matter how hard we deny it, somewhere in the deepest and darkest corners of the back of our heads, corners that our train of thoughts is scared of taking us to, we have a secret story that we want to keep to ourselves, a special memory that we cherish and remember everytime we are alone, a dream that we put so much strength believing in it and holding on the smallest possibilities of its realisation, an image of our perfect lover to whom we possess a blind, dreamy and unconditional love that will make us more than willing to accept them with all their flaws. We all want to feel the fire of love. The one that gives us goosebumps at the thought of the right one, butterflies when we touch them and have a taste of the sweetness of their hearts, chills when we lock eyes and let our imagination get wild. There are a few things that can make you feel as if you are living in an American high school drama - teachers complaining about the height of your skirt, your twin brother being the most popular and most sought-after boy at school, hurtful rumours that make you want to curl up and cry, punching the guy who cheated on your best friend, and falling for totally hot, totally sexy night-class professor because he's simply drool worthy and those rolled 'R's are the sexiest thing on the planet. Factor in crazy parties, Halloween costumes, fending off not-so-drunken make-out sessions, the school bad-boy, late-night snacks from McDonald's, revenge and a smart-ass dad, and the stage is set for my somewhat tragic social life. As human beings, we are all different and find beauty in many things and what we define as beautiful differs from person to person, young and old, meek and bold. Art is equal to beauty, it is unique to the individual and special to those who can see the passion behind it. Carter shows her art by leaving indelible ink stains on people's skin, a mark that can never be erased: the mark of her masterpiece.
