"'I'm still in love with you!" The choir suddenly stopped and the tension cracked with the silence of the crowd. The bride, the epitome of Cinderella, turned corpselike, tears ashen as they fall to the floor. And that's when I noticed the jilted groom. He cleaned up nicely, and carried himself with poise even in such conditions, but there were fragments of displeasure written along the lines of his brows, and eyes buried with a shade darker than his tuxedo. He caught my guilty eyes with his, realizing just who I was. I knew him, more so than the regular townsfolk. Travis Garver shared the same tragic memory I had sought to forget about. I ran backwards as fast as I could with four inch heels, tossing dignity to the side; I ran through the double doors of the building, the church bells of the entryway singing me a lullaby as I left. It was as if, in a twisted moment of fate, I was Cinderella.' ** '"Come on, you're the best at what you do. I wouldn't have asked if I didn't trust you." Breaking up your best friend and her boyfriend had to be easy, right? I never liked him anyway, so this was going to be a piece of cake. I'd do it for my best friend, and hey, if a few more people need my help with their failed relationships along the way, who was I NOT to mess it up, too? They can thank me later.' -- SUMMARY: Dani Rose Cooper hasn't been in her hometown of Cope since her brother's passing, but a call from her longtime friend for a request she cannot reject has her packing her bags and jetting down south. "Wanted to be bold." I blush while I avoid eye contact. "Devin needed to borrow clothes for gym." I stare at my bare legs. "I should've told her no." He shrugs, biting into his sub. "Not a fan of exposing the body." I nibble on my burrito. "I just don't want anyone to get the wrong idea." I tuck my hair behind my ear. "That you're easy." My face reddens as I look at him in the corner of my eyes. After a few moments, I nod. He sighs. "The only thing that makes a girl easy is if she lets every and any guy inside." He runs his fingers through his hair. "Clothes or attitude has nothing to do with it." I trace a circle on my thigh. "And a guy that believes otherwise is either a dick or a rapist." I smile. "Avery." "Ava." "Your brain works in wonderful ways." I get more comfortable and lean on his shoulder. "So you've said." I giggle. "I'm glad to share the same name as you." ~ A girl, a perfectionist, named Avery Jones has been in love with her childhood friend's brother for as long as she can remember. Oh, by the way, his name is also Avery Jones; no relation. As crazy as it might sound, it's true. Anyway, it isn't until she becomes his mentor that he finally sees her. But will this new circumstance spark a connection or show just how different they are?
