These are poems I created while still in college. Sociology being one of my passions of mine. I consider myself a forever student. The title poem was influenced by a Gender Studies course, one with a cross-cultural perspective. Learning about the roles women play in different cultures, many being matriarchal, I compared them to society here in the United States. Let's face it; women still are striving, we still are trying to gain that full equal status. These poems are reflections, as much as they deal with personal experience within the workplace, in love and all other experiences.

Regardless of size, putting your life on hold until you reach that perfect weight, does no one any good. This will be my collection of poems reflecting on societies obsession with weight and size and the effect this has on us and how we can change this. We shouldn't be allowing it to determine whether we should be happy, successful or loved. Enough is enough. Start living. You deserve it all now. I give thanks to anyone who reads this collection, it's appreciated with all my heart and if you also happen to hit the little vote button, you have my eternal gratitude ❤️.
