Tom Riddle is used to being a target. He is also used to being the strongest and the best, making everyone else fear him in the Orphanage. When he is welcomes into Hogwarts, he expects things to be the same as before, yet at the same time, he hopes for better things. He is still the target, but being the best is suddenly a whole lot harder.
