Hiding From My Mate
"I need to talk to you Elly" "Why?!" "I know that you're my mate" I laughed sarcastically. "What?! Are you trying to make fun of me again like you did two years ago?" I saw everyone flinched at that and Drake had this look of hurt. "I apologised Elly! Please give me a chance. We're mates after all" he pleaded. "We. Are. Not. Mates" I said angrily. "Do I smell like your mate?" I questioned knowing he had no answer for that. "You're hiding it" "Really!" I looked surprised but that made Drake angry. "Let's go for sparks then" he tried to grabbed my hand but Josh pushed me behind him. "Are you trying to touch someone else's mate, Alpha?" Josh asked. "Josh!" Others shouted and Drake growled loudly, his eyes turning black. And he looked at me with those eyes. "Just remember Elly! I asked you nicely" with that he turned and stormed out of the library, others following him behind. ________________________________________ Elly was a quiet and smart girl who had a promising future as a doctor. But the little sparks of hope that build up her optimistic, bright soul convince her otherwise. She will always think of one thing and that there is hope in life. Maybe even a goal. It might not be visible now, but she knew that it became as clear as a bell when she ran into Luke Carter. Twice. In one day. Second time being literally into him. -- "How about fifty-fifty?" I offer in ragged breaths. "We could have just done this from the beginning," he replies, breathing heavily. We both chuckle. I gaze into his green eyes. "Your eyes are really beautiful," I blurt out. "I know," he smirks. "Are you always that egotistic?" "It depends," he answers, pushing my hair behind my ear. I smile at him. "You're welcome then." "I never said thank you." "And I said you're welcome. enemy to doctor - the hating game
An unfortunate series of events leads to Lucy waking up in an unknown apartment. The one of her work colleague and former enemy, Joshua. When Josh announces that after she fell and blacked out, he took her to his home instead of an ER to take care of her himself, Lucy doesn't understand. Until he explains that he attended med school for four years before dropping out and changing the industry. Lucy's state of health and a number of unfortunate revelations lead to the need of Josh's medical expertise which throughout the next few days turns out to still not be enough... ---------------------------------------------------- "No. Cut it right there.", his wrist is still in my hand and I hold on to it. "Please don't regret it. I- I could not take that." I'm lucky that there's water streaming down the side of my face from my hair so that he cannot see the tiny tear making its way down my cheek. His pupils widen and his throat bobs as he swallows the rest of his sentence down. Then he leans to the front and softly kisses the tear away. "Never in my life would a thought such as regretting a singular second I have spent with you cross my mind." And with that he pulls me close and hugs my naked shoulders, obviously not minding the water soaking his shirt. I inhale deeply and recite the words in my head like a magical spell. Never in my life would a thought such as regretting a singular second I have spent with you cross my mind. 3rd of March 2o24 #2 in #injury #4 in #clinic #8 in #hospitalConcluida
