"We will be friends forever, right?" Sutton muttered. "No matter what?" 

"No matter what, we will always be best buds! I promise." Reed confirmed with a nod of his head. 

"Goodbye Sutton."

Sutton Hale and Reed Hamilton are the best friends that any young kids could ever be. Both born and raised in the small town of Wilmington, North Carolina, their lives will be turned upside down when the Hamilton family is uprooted from their quaint lives in Wilmington, to move to the Big Apple! 

At the ages of seven and eight Reed and Sutton are forced to say goodbye to one another, for what to them seems like an eternity. After ten years of separation, their friendship has been put to the test and ultimately failed, losing touch with one another. 

When the Hamilton's suddenly move back to Wilmington after a tragic family accident, will Sutton and Reed's long lost friendship rekindle? Will they pick up where they left off?
