Infidelity, ˌinfəˈdelədē, is the action or state of being unfaithful to a moral obligation.

                                           Olivia Ludavico

Spraying my right hand out to the door, I pushed it open, but I didn't miss a drop of blood that was plastered on the knob.

Training my gun up into the room, I surveyed around and my eyes landed to see the man, that was suppose to be my kill with my bullet, with his head titled back and his hands tied to his chair- he looked to be sleeping but the two bullets to his head and chest told me it was an instant kill.

Someone had beat me to it.

"Damn it." I hissed out, clearly annoyed. I placed my hand on my earpiece turning my body sideways to the door.

It hadn't been thirty minutes but my brother needed to know we wasted valuable time with me coming down here. It was apparent he wasn't doing bad business with just my father. My brother didn't respond and I rolled my eyes before my breath quickened after hearing clinking of a glass, and I turned on my heel ready to fight for life or death.

I hesitated for the first time in my life.

Piercing grey eyes in the dim light to Abram Smirnov's office stared back at me, and not to the gun that could end his life at any moment. He looked to be the man that invited death with open arms, but it was on his time and not when the universe called for him and the way his eyes flickered told me it was for damn sure not going to be from me; not for tonight. His fingers grazed the side of his glass before I watched him tick his forefinger against it.

He radiated off power and my finger closed around the trigger but I didn't pull it. If he was going to hurt me; he would've by now.

What did he want?

Remembering his love for some and his irrational behavior towards others. attempting to teach lessons that he never learned himself. **************** "Vincenzo," she stood over me, "please. Please. Please." I nodded, I looked down at Constance, then I looked back at her. She looks like a bomb ready to detonate, it's over. I stood up and put Constance in his cot, he began to giggle at the sight of the mobile. His fist in his mouth admiring the hanging sea creatures, dolphins, whales, and turtles. I looked back at Evangeline, she was breathing heavily and losing all control. She plopped down on the bed, and I moved from the cot to look at her. Once my feet stood in front of her she took her ring off and threw it at me. It hit my chest. It fell right on my slipper. She was growing with hysteria. Her fingers running through her hair. I was frozen, she was heaving and she fell from the bed onto her knees. She crawled to the corner of the room, in between the wall and the dresser. Her red shirt rubbing against the green walls of the bedroom. Her shoulder grazed the beige dresser, making scratches on her arms and she didn't care. I looked down at the ring sitting on my foot, to my Evangeline. My mouth hung open but I couldn't say anything, the only noise in the room was the scraping of Evangeline's shoulder and the little giggles escaping the cot. My money was on my foot, but my heart split across the room." -Chp 15

A marriage bound not by love, but by vengeance. Shivansh entered into matrimony with Samriddhi, not as a husband, but as a punisher. His mother's tragic death had left him shattered, and in his grief, he sought justice-or perhaps retribution. Convinced that Samriddhi was the key to uncovering the truth, he vowed to make her suffer. But as he walked the treacherous path of revenge, the lines between hatred and love began to blur. He never anticipated the depth of her pain, the secrets she carried, or the silent battles she had fought long before he entered her life. Slowly, against his will, he found himself drawn to her-not just to her beauty, but to her strength, her resilience, and the sorrow hidden behind her eyes. But was love enough to erase the wounds of the past? Could Samriddhi ever forgive the man who married her with the intent to ruin her? And was Shivansh truly punishing the right person, or had he been blinded by his own misconceptions? As buried truths unraveled, they found themselves entangled in a web of lies, betrayals, and long-forgotten sins. Every revelation brought a new storm, testing the fragile bond they had unknowingly built. Did they find their happily ever after? Maybe. Was Love easy for them? Certainly Not.
