War has become a business and the phrase hostile takeover has a whole new meaning. Alan Reid is a green recruit in the Ironstorm company, a fresh faced soldier making a new life for himself. He soon finds there's a layer grime under the glory of mercenary life, a scum he plans to burn clean, and when a shadowy patron offers to fund that goal he can't help but jump at the opportunity. Half a galaxy away, Alan's sister Elisabeth stumbles headlong into a tangled web of lies and deceit. A shadow war is raging, hidden behind shell corporations and proxy battles.
