Tom lives with his dysfunctional family which is held together by his long-suffering Mother. Emma, his little sister is at war with Gran who has just moved in. Dad is an inventor who works in his laboratory (garden shed); he has invented a machine that can make computer images real. He hopes to use this to conquer world hunger. The children have other ideas. When dad leaves for London intending to generate interest in his machine called a Transmuter, the children enter his laboratory. Because he is bullied at school, Tom links his games console to the machine, the hero from a game he is playing emerges. The hero cannot learn and wreaks havoc all over town. Emma breaks in as well, she takes her battle with Gran to another level. Emma entices her elderly relative into the shed. Emma switches the machine on with Gran in the cabinet linked to the Transmuter. A creature emerges, a blue-rinse T-Rex; half Gran, half T-Rex. When the evil army comes out of the cabinet intent upon world domination, Gran gives battle!
