Hickory Hill

Alma Brown despises her neighborhood and everything in it. She hates the chalky sidewalk. She hates the lawns stained an artificial color of green. She hates the condos that line the road, and the doll-like families that occupy them. But most of all, she hates the giggling, snot-nosed children who ride bikes and play games in the street.
