melanie martinez also known as the princess of thanela, the land of mothers with pretty faces and children who will do anything to make their parents proud. including making themselves pretty enough, for their fathers happiness.

ashley frangipane also known as halsey to her people, she is the leader of badlands a small but hidden town in thanela. when the king and queen of thanela find out halsey has been stealing magic to heal her people, they order their army to hunt her down.
