As Alina is sinking in grief, her friends are trying to stay united, making plans of dethroning the Darkling, who now rules Ravka.
The sun summoner has to resist giving into the shadow summoner's will, but how long will she be able to put on a show, as her feelings are starting to fade into numbness?
And how easy can it be to kill the one who's standing beside you on a throne, when power has never felt so good?
Alina may find out the answer when shadows have already taken over her heart.
(Basically Mal dies, Alina turns dark and lives with the Darkling at the Grand Palace. Her friends are trying to kill him. Enjoy :)

Then, the Darkling's scowl seemed to fade leaving an unsettling glimmer of fire in his eyes. He leaned down leveling his mouth with my cheek. His lips brushed the shell of my ear when he whispered, "I will break you eventually. With time, you will see." ________________ If the Darkling succeeded in making Alina a monster, what would Alina act like under the Darkling's spell. The Darkling stares back and for a while the only thing that moves in the room are the shadows. "Alina, you misunderstand me. I have waited centuries for someone like you. Centuries, Alina, alone. He pushes off from his chair and I shiver in my seat as he pauses by my side. The Darkling's hands find my chin and he holds my head tenderly with both hands. My power sparks at his touch like fire to kindling and I have to clench a hand in my dress skirt to keep control. He makes sure my gaze is entirely on him when he says, "And you know you will." I shake underneath the pressure of his words and he strokes my chin to calm me. Fine, but he has no idea what he is asking for. I shall be a queen, but not his. A darklina story~How would the story end if the battle at the climax of Seige & Storm between Alina and the Darkling happened at a different place and time-After the Darkling became the reigning king. What would have happened if the Sun Summoner surrendered? Alina Starkov struggles with her feelings towards Aleksander and protecting her country. She is forced into decisions that she did not want to make while at the Grand Palace. The Sun Summoner loses even more control over her life after her marriage to the Darkling. She must gain back control and find a way to save Aleksander's humanity; the lives of innumerous innocent people depend on it. This story is based on the Shadow and Bone trilogy combined with the Netflix show. I scoff in response before asking, "then... what are you going to do with me?" He reaches out and traces the features of my jaw and face. He replies, "well that will depend on you." "Me?" I ask warily. He moves a strand of hair out of my face and continues to caress my cheek. "Yes," he exhales. "I don't want you to hate me, Alina. The Sun Summoner learns that a time of peace can become a time of chaos and upheaval in the blink of an eye. As quickly as one war ends, another can emerge. Alina must protect her country as Queen while making sure that the Darkling doesn't revert to his old villainous self, or else all they have built will come crashing down. Behind him, a monster ten feet tall, made of shadow, forms in a menacing stance, ready to carry out his silent orders. I thought I had seen the last of his nichevo'ya a long time ago when we were on opposing sides of the war. I shake my head. "No. No, what are you doing? Wait!" I send the Cut barrelling at the monster. It dissociates into nothing only for another one to take its place. Again, I send the Cut through the abomination, but it was only a diversion. Another one forms behind me, capturing my arms to prevent me from summoning. It holds me above the ground. I kick and scream, but it covers my mouth with its long, slender arm, the other holding me securely to its chest. My breath is labored as I use all of my strength to fight it. It is futile. The Darkling approaches me, stroking his fingers across my cheek as a way to comfort me. It is hard, however, to comfort someone if you are the cause of the distress.
