Recent events have thrown Zoe Green into a state of cynicism and distrust, which provokes an interest in the dark and twisted corners of people's minds. Being a double major in English and psychology, Zoe decides to become a therapist to discover through her patients' baggage all of the reasons why she should not grow close to others. She instead realizes that she can utilize her knowledge of the inner workings of the human mind to control the people around her. Then one drunken night, Zoe visits her ex-husband, Ryan. However, things take a turn for the worse when Ryan is found dead in his home the next day. As the police unravel the story through traditional methods, Zoe undergoes her own investigation, but through manipulation and deceit. What she finds out is more than she wanted to know.

In a city where secrets run deeper than its rivers, Elara Morgan wakes up in a cold, sterile hospital room with no memory of her past. The only thing she knows is her name and the cryptic, blood-stained note tucked into her palm: "Find him before they find you." Elara is thrust into a world she doesn't recognize, chased by shadowy figures who whisper about her as if she's the key to something dangerous. Along the way, she meets Rowan, a brooding yet charming man who claims to know her but is reluctant to share the details. He tells her she was a journalist who disappeared three years ago while investigating a high-profile conspiracy. The problem? She doesn't trust him-or herself. As Elara digs deeper into her shattered memories, she discovers horrifying truths about her former life. She learns about her connection to Project Oblivion, an illegal mind-altering experiment designed to erase and rewrite memories. The deeper she delves, the clearer it becomes that she might not be a victim of the project-she might be its creator. But why would she erase her own memories? And what happened to the man she was so desperate to find? Elara must unravel the web of lies before her enemies close in. But with her own mind as unreliable as the people around her, the question remains: Can she trust herself enough to uncover the truth?
