The little Keithmaid

This is what happens when I can't think of a good plot for a Klance fic. That, and I want a good laugh.

Keith, a sixteen-year-old mermaid prince, is dissatisfied with underwater life and is curious about the human world. With his best friend Pidge, Keith collects human artifacts and goes to the surface of the ocean to visit Coran the seagull, who offers very inaccurate knowledge of human culture. He ignores the warnings of his father King Shiro, the ruler of Atlantica, and his adviser and court composer Allura that contact between merpeople and humans is forbidden.

One night, Keith, Pidge, and an unwilling Allura travel to the ocean surface to watch a celebration for the birthday of Prince Lance on a ship. Keith quickly becomes enamored with Lance. The birthday celebration is cut short by a violent storm which wrecks the ship and tosses Lance overboard. Keith saves him from drowning and brings him to shore. He sings to him, but quickly leaves as soon as he regains consciousness to avoid being discovered. Fascinated by the memory of his voice, Lance vows to find who saved and sang to him, and Keith vows to find a way to join him and his world.
