Alec Lightwood had a successful life. He worked damn hard for it. But at the same time he was lonely. Experienced yet inexperienced. He craved love and knew he would never have it. He craved real feelings, to be loved for who he was, to be loved in a way that would satisfy him, but he knew that was an unreachable dream for him. So he buried his true self deep inside himself. So deeply that he slowly began to believe that his own false reality was real. And it worked for 28 years. The place has such an aura that of course my Malec writing brain cells almost exploded. I started writing this the same day, during my vacation. I was going to write a oneshot...but by the end (as usual) I couldn't stop.
