Thalia Martinez is a 15 year old Columbian girl who lived in Colombia with her mother, Maria Martinez. Thalia and her mother lived in a rough area , Maria feared that Thalia will get involved with the gang violence and drugs that go on in their neighborhood. So Maria decided to move to The United States and live in Atlanta, Georgia. There, Thalia found her self becoming friends with this ghetto latina girl named, Natalie Rodriguez. Thalia thinks of this girl as "quite the chola." Natalie introduces Thalia to her mischievous and rebellious friends who just so happen to be a group of boys and who also happen mess with drugs and gun violence, the exact kind of people Thalia's mother tried to get Thalia away from in the first place. Thalia and one certain boy in the group, Andrew Johnson, click and soon form a strong bond and even a relationship.
