Raven is the best at his job. As a Taker, he has claimed more sinner's souls for the Dark Lord's army than any of the others. He reaps with deadly accuracy and he moves from one target to the next without question....or he had. Suddenly, Raven has begun to remember what it was like to be human, before the Dark Lord tricked him. Raven is Fallen, a soul meant for Heaven but cursed with an eternity of servitude in Hell. And now, he wants out. Lillian is the Commander of her father's Army of Light. She has lost count of the Takers who have tasted her blade. She is set to marry Trace, her father's right hand. He will make an excellent father, a great husband and a good lover. But it isn't her choice. She wishes to choose her own destiny. In a moment of distraction, she is critically injured in battle and plummets to earth landing in a pile of garbage. Wings broken, darkness takes her consciousness. When she wakes she is met with the presence of a Taker. He should have finished her off but was he...tending to her wounds? "I won't hurt you." He says.
