There are things in life that we don't want to happen, but we have to accept; things we don't want to know but have to learn, and people we can't live without, but have to let go.

Elizabeth is dying, and there is nothing anyone can do about that. It's inevitable. Yet, Death doesn't care about her list of dreams or accomplishments. Life is too short, there is no time to leave important things unsaid. Elizabeth has one whole year to ensure that she doesn't leave anything important unsaid. She has a whole year to do everything she's ever wanted to do before it's too late, and appreciate what she has before it's what she had.

And that one important thing that she must force herself to admit before it's a wasted memory is that she is madly, deeply in love with Oliver Parkinson. Her best friend; who's willing to spend the year ensuring that she ticks off everything on her bucket list before he lets her go.
