Het management van de populaire boyband "One Direction" heeft een briljant idee om de jongens niet alleen op de radio en Spotify bekend te maken, namelijk een eigen show op tv, genaamd "The battle of the best member". Wat de titel al zegt, in dit programma strijden de jongens om de titel 'het beste lid'. Maar dat doen ze niet alleen, dat doen ze samen met een willekeurig meisje uit UCL, ofwel "University College Londen". De meisjes worden uitgekozen uit een ouderwetste manier, simpelweg: een loterij. Na de loterij worden de 4 teams verplaatst naar ieder een andere, geheime plaats. De ijzige sneeuwvlaktes in Greenland, de warme gebieden in Egypte, de tropische regenwouden in Brazilië of de stille kusten op Paaseiland. Eenmaal op hun plaats krijgen ze een kaart waarmee ze naar een bepaalde plaats moeten wandelen. Welk team het minst tijd nodig heeft om hun finish te bereiken wint. Maar de tocht zit vol gevaren. Er spelen twee vragen door hun hoofd: Hoe moeten ze overleven? Maar vooral: Am i in l-o-v-e ?

Ready to go back to 2010 with me? Amber wakes up in her childhood bedroom with a massive headache. She looks at the date and it says; April 11 2010. This can't be right, because only yesterday it was October 16 2024. But it is right, it is real. The idea of the book is one that I pulled from an old unpublished fanfic I wrote in 2014. The idea was to travel back in time to be with one direction, which now seems something I want to do more than ever. I'll tell you now that I decided the main character will travel back from a time where Liam was still alive so she doesn't have to deal with knowing when he'll pass away. Just to keep everything light and fun. Disclaimer I'll publish as I go so sorry if you have to wait for the next chapter, but I'm uploading every other day. Normally I wouldn't publish my writing I'm too much of a perfectionist to share stuff like this but grieving alone really sucks so I'm just hoping us directioners can find comfort within each other. I'll try my best to include many personal details and events about the boys into the book but I have to leave some room for creative writing. I'm also just grieving and hurting so please let's be kind to one another.

"Why do I have to go to school today?" I could hear my brother asking my mom. She responded to him by yelling, "Because you are not sick, you are not hurt, and you're just being lazy! Now get ready because you're gonna make your sister late!" He knew today was not a day to argue with my mother. Her car was broken into the night before and she had been on the phone with my father and police all night. My parents had been divorced since I was seven, but since my dad is a cop, she calls him whenever something happens to get advice on what to do. As 7:30 approached, I yelled at my brother, "Ryan are you ready yet? We have to go now!" He yelled back "I'm coming down right now!" Of course he wasn't down for another 3 or 4 minutes. On my way to school, I was speeding a bit because I knew that traffic was gonna be bad. It didn't help that I saw someone being pulled over just up ahead and everyone has to slow down when they pass by to see if they know them... "UGH! PEOPLE MOVE! IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL!" I have the worst road rage in the morning, and my brother told me to calm down, so instead of getting mad at him, I just turned my stereo on and blasted the same CD that had been in my car for the past 3 months, One Direction's Up All Night. My brother started screaming because One Direction is the only band I ever listen too. I just turned it up louder to drown him out. As soon as I heard Liam's voice come on, my mood was instantly changed for the better. While listening to the music I felt my phone buzz saying one of the boys had tweeted. I threw the phone at my brother and it was Harry tweeting, "Louis got pulled over in California again! Someone take his license!" I started laughing, but I didn't really think anything of it. Directionators and Directioners: terms known well in the fan fiction, tumblr, twitter, and internet world. Those are the two distinct groups surrounding One Direction, but Marissa isn't either of those. Marissa is a Direction Hater. She can't stand to listen to their music, and she doesn't understand the hype surrounding the boys. They, afterall to Marissa, are just a phase the girls are going through.
