OLD VERSION: If you liked this, please see my new updated version of this same story called "The Stolen Merman" "I stopped in my tracks. The room felt like it was no longer there, the only thing I could focus on was the doleful face of a beautiful teenage boy. He looked to be around my age, 17, with long, wavy, white hair, pointed ears and what I think used to be strong ocean-blue eyes that were now despairing and hopeless. He had a pale complexion and at the bottom of his hips emerged glistening blue scales protruding from his skin and continuing down to end in an astounding tail. I noticed a thin chain trailing along the bottom of the tank leaving a track in the sand and finally noted that he wore a collar, much like the kind dogs wear, around his neck which connected to the chain. In a daze, I found myself walking towards the tank and placed my hand against the cold, unforgiving glass." A merman has been discovered and it's being held in an aquarium that just so happens to be local to 15 year old Amy and her best friend Harvey (Hadley). The moment Amy sees him there is an instant connection but will this connection ultimately lead to a dangerous future none of them could have predicted?

The Siren

(Underwater Murder Series spin-off; Book 1 in the Family Ties Series) Ever since she and her brother were adopted by the Solomons, Faye and Drew have been trying to get back to their normal lives. They love their adoptive parents and wouldn't trade them for anything. Of course, the memories of their late biological mother and sister would always live on in their hearts. Drew has been busying himself with school and cometball, while Faye is working tirelessly to keep up with school and her job as a waitress at the Bronze Mermaid. Their biological father has made a concentrated effort to be more involved in their lives, but it's taken years for them to even get to that point. One day after school, Faye is finishing up a shift when she gets a mysterious note containing only one word: Siren. What does it mean? Does it have something to do with her biological mother? If so, why show it to her now? Read to find out.
