OLD VERSION: If you liked this, please see my new updated version of this same story called "The Stolen Merman"

"I stopped in my tracks. The room felt like it was no longer there, the only thing I could focus on was the doleful face of a beautiful teenage boy. He looked to be around my age, 17, with long, wavy, white hair, pointed ears and what I think used to be strong ocean-blue eyes that were now despairing and hopeless. He had a pale complexion and at the bottom of his hips emerged glistening blue scales protruding from his skin and continuing down to end in an astounding tail. I noticed a thin chain trailing along the bottom of the tank leaving a track in the sand and finally noted that he wore a collar, much like the kind dogs wear, around his neck which connected to the chain. In a daze, I found myself walking towards the tank and placed my hand against the cold, unforgiving glass."
A merman has been discovered and it's being held in an aquarium that just so happens to be local to 15 year old Amy and her best friend Harvey (Hadley). The moment Amy sees him there is an instant connection but will this connection ultimately lead to a dangerous future none of them could have predicted?

A human girl/merman historical romance. (That ocean rizz) ◇Prequel to Sea of Dreams ◇ This is the tale of a girl who is swept away into the deep, straight into the arms of a terrifying merman. Can also be read as a stand-alone :) ●Preview● Larissa cried out in alarm along with the riotus pirates as the row boat flipped over into the dark choppy waves. Her voice was instantly cut short by the onslaught of salt water invading her lungs. Beneath the depths, she saw nothing but churning water rushing through her vision. Distant cries of terror and anguish from above the surface filled her ears. Murkey red waves began to swirl all around her, and suddenly, a flashing streak of white, and the glimmer of a silvery blue tail swooshed past her eyes in an effervescent blur. Adrenaline immediately crushed into her, enveloping her sanity. Her heart hammered erractically, and her limbs frantically moved on their own volition, propelling her upward for air. Breaking through the surface, she gasped anxiously for oxygen, while the invading shouts of the English men bombarded the air with the atmosphere of sheer panic. Paralyzing fear gripped her entire being as she looked up, the salt water trailing down her face from her wet hair. One by one, before her very eyes, each man still swimming within the beating waves was mercilessly yanked down into the depths, followed by a splash and glimmer of that same silvery tail whipping back and forth viciously within the churning waters, sending up foamy sprays of water and spurts of pirate blood in it's wake.

Historical romance about a human girl and a merman. [Preview] A long arm snaked around her waist, pulling her through the current. Adrenaline hit her like a crushing force, and she saw whisps of white silk clouding around her vision. She began to struggle vehemently, still holding onto her sketchpad as tightly as possible. She raised the book above her head and beat it against the iron body, dragging her deeper. She felt her sketchpad suddenly get snatched out of her hand. The flash of white crossed in front of her and two eyes, dark as death, watched her so closely that she could see nothing else. Her chest throbbed with the desperate need to breathe, and she began to struggle again, thrashing her limbs as much as she possibly could to unleash herself from the creature's locked hold. Powerless, exhausted, and drowning, Victoria's eyes fought to remain open as she ceased fighting her fate and grew still. The pain in her chest seemed to pulsate throughout her entire body, and she felt the darkness coming on, but she ignored it as she remained listelessly suspended in the deep abyss. The black eyes remained fixated on her face as if she were the only thing that existed. Her eyes fluttered closed, but not before she saw the obsidion depths of the creature's eyes swirl and turn to a dark shade of sapphire blue. Breathing seemed like a luxury now and my legs wanted to give out and let me collapse. Almost there. We were so close. So close. I fell, completely spent. Axel glanced over his shoulder and screeched to a halt, sprinting back over. I could see the worry in his eyes. I could faintly hear him calling my name. My body was throbbing as I gazed with glazed eyes at the street tiles. The last thing I saw before my vision turned dark was dirty blonde hair and a pair of sky blue eyes. * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * Updates every Saturday
