Everyone thinks Saphira is a regular girl but she's not. Yes, she goes to a school for mortals, wears mortal things and does mortal activities but she technically isn't a mortal.
Saphira has grown up in a world that is split in half. On one side of the fenced border, there are humans, on the other dangerous magical creatures lurk. When her adoptive parents send her to a summer camp right next to the border a new adventure begins. She discovers a new best friend but is she really who she says she is? And then there's the mysterious, handsome boy Jace that seems to have an odd interest in her and his ice cold twin brother Finnick, who could kill someone with his withering glare. Saphira soon finds herself entangled in their lives... More so then she wants to be.
To make matters worse, Saphira is keeping a terrible secret from everyone. She is actually a creature that is meant to be on the other side of the border, or as humans would say, a "monster".
