I  was six years old when I was removed from my family. I remember it all so clearly. I had woken up early one morning and let out a big yawn. Then I closed my mouth, creating a buzzing sensation in the back of my throat.

I had thought it was such a foreign sound, so naturally, I attempted to make the same sound again. The second time, the sound had slightly changed. 

I began stringing the different sounds together in a pattern, swiftly transitioning from one to another. 

I was so occupied by the sound that I didn't notice my grandmother walk into my room. 

"Agh!" She scolded. "I knew that girl would be a rotten egg!"

That was the day I, Rhapsody Larkin, disrupted the silence.All Rights Reserved
