Ruby is an individual in a world where everyone is the same.
She has no family, no friends, no identity. She is property of society.
Ruby believes that she has no cause, no reason to live or to fight. It’s not until she meets up with an old friend, one who is ‘Unbranded’, that she decides that life is still worth living.
A resistance is a group that fights back, that uses force against those with all the power. That type of resistance is not possible in the world where the Government knows and sees all. Ruby’s resistance is different; a refusal to allow herself and others to be the same.
The fight is not easy, nor is it without consequences. But Ruby and her group all know that identity is worth losing some battles.
