The Butterfly Effect. The theory that a butterfly can flap its wings and the tiny changes that causes to the atmosphere can cause a tsunami halfway around the globe. The theory that every single decision you make, no matter how tiny or seemingly random and insignificant it may seem, effects your future. If you hadn't made the decision to go out that Friday night you could have fallen in love with someone completely different. The decision to run that extra lap around the park can prevent you from getting that flat tire and being late for dinner. Every decision you make sets the stage for events in your future. What if, however, you could change these decisions? What if you could go back and go out that Friday night? Everything could be different... But is different really better? Samantha Donavan would do almost anything to change what happened that day. That fateful day, on Christmas Eve, a series of several decisions led to an awful tragedy that changed her life completely. When she stumbles across some old books in her grandfather's basement she realizes that all these events were triggered by previous events that eventually led to the tragic event that destroyed her life. She also discovers that she maybe able to do something about it... However, as Sam soon discovers, messing with the past can have dangerous consequences for the future. Nothing is random. The future is unpredictable.

The butterfly effect. The butterfly effect is a chaos theory. It's the theory where one thing can change the course of man kind. It can be as simple as a extra breath or going down the wrong aisle at the grocery store. What if one significant event overturned. The event after the parents of James Buchanan Barnes and Rebecca Barnes died in two unrelated deaths and custody of 8 year old Rebecca Barnes was given to the closest relatives of the family and the two siblings were never to connect again. What if instead of Rebecca moving away, James Buchanan barnes was granted custody of his younger sister and got to watch her grown up.
