Shane Evanson hasn't exactly had the best past. Her parents were constantly fighting, her father gorging himself with alcohol, and Shane found her mother on the bathroom floor where she took her own life. Shane resorts to self-harm to handle her pain once she is left with only her father to provide for her. What, with her father's abusive attitude and drinking problem. However, when Shane and her father move to Cheshire to try and escape the past, she meets Harry Styles, a boy whom was well-known for his cheerful spirit. When he meets Shane, he is nothing but friendly towards the girl. However, with Shane's pushing people away and keeping up barriers, Harry's attempts prove to be futile.
