Wolves raised in the land of the flaming forests know that each year a pup is chosen by the pack elder to be sacrificed to the demon god, Howlnehn, who lives in the ancient volcano. Howlnehn cursed this pack years before to have their souls trapped in a capsule. Demons form as chains to extract the soul, bit by bit until nothing is left but a lifeless body sparkled out on the forest floor. The next sacrifice chosen was a young fox named Nash. When he is thrown into the volcano he emerges from the lava and re appears at camp. His destiny is to defeat Howlnehn.
