My name's Meridian Raven and I'm seventeen years old. I guess the first thing you should know is that I was adopted. I don't mind, really. My adoptive father - Josh - is like a brother to me, and he's been there for me in ways no one else ever could. My life has actually been quite normal, consisting of high school parties and movie nights with Josh for the past few years. It wasn't until a new kid - Noah - moved to my school that things changed. He saved my life once or twice, and then challenged Josh's ability to keep me safe.

After that? Well, the rest is history.

Josh and Katie have been best friends since he first moved nextdoor midway through freshman year. They were attached to the hip and acted like they've known each other for years. Josh Parker was the all American boy who all the girls wanted, including Katie. As Katie and Josh's friendship blossomed she quickly formed a crush on Josh, but as the years progressed, her crush turned into love. Five years after leaving Miami brokenhearted after finding out about Josh's engagement to his childhood sweetheart. Katie unexpectedly reunites with her former best friend, and Josh quickly realizes that his feelings for her are not just platonic anymore. * As I'm walking out of work I get a call from my brother to pick my niece up from school. For the past 4 years that little girl has had me wrapped around her finger and I wouldn't have it any other way. Unfortunately I got stuck in traffic on the way over so I'm late for pick up. Once I get to Melanie's classroom I fill out the sign out sheet that's on the wall and make my way into the classroom. I faintly hear Melanie laughing so I know she's not upset from me being late. "Hey I'm so sorry. I got stuck in traff..." I said stopping mid sentence, stunned at the woman in front of me. Standing in front of me is someone I considered one of the most important people to me back in highschool. As soon as I looked into those Caribbean blue that I used to know so well, I knew it was her. It takes her a few seconds to realize who I am. She stands there stunned. We continue to stare at each other until she breaks the silence. "Josh?" She asks not believing it's actually me. "Hey Katie girl." ❝That's the thing about love. It isn't going to be easy, it isn't going to be smooth, but it's going to be worth it. Because sometimes you have to take the plunge. And you never know if you'll make it out again.❞ Maybe it's the way he looked at her that day in kindergarten or maybe it's the way he was there for her all those years. Whatever it was, somewhere along the way Kaylee fell for Dylan - hard. She soon realizes, however, that feelings can be misinterpreted and fate often doesn't play in her favor. When a rift forms between the two, all hope seems lost and Kaylee is forced to move on. But later, when fate finally decides to twist in her favor, Kaylee is given a second chance to fix their romance. As the two work through resetting their relationship, they soon learn that friendships often don't go as planned, relationships aren't actually that simple, and words are not always easily said. And in the end, everything may just crash and burn. ******************************************* Warning: Read at your own risk! This is my first story on Wattpad (which I wrote when I was 14), so you know what that means - cringe, plot holes, and errors. It's not the most well-written; there are decent chapters and bad chapters. I hope you decide to give this story a chance anyways, though.
