Svaret på den frågan är enkel. De katastrofer som människorna tror är naturkatastrofer, så som vulkanutbrott och orkaner, är egentligen skapade av "De onda".
De som går på Beskyddar skolan är där för att när de har gått klart skolan, bli riktiga Beskyddare, rädda mänskligheten och förgöra "De onda" för gott.
