Forgetting Dominic

I go to push the door open, but the opportunity to do so is taken away when the door opens, revealing the person behind it. My Mate.

He's smiling at me until he realizes who I am. A plethora of emotions flashes over his eyes. At first, he looks happy, then it's replaced by disappointment and anger.

"No!" he growls, taking a step back away from me.

"Dom-" I don't even know what I'm going to say, but I don't get a chance to say it. He takes my arm in his hand as if he's trying to confirm that in his mate. Instantly, a warmth like I've never felt before starts spreading over the spot he's touching. He drops my hand like it's on fire and backs away from me again.
