Several years ago, just before Kid, Black Star, Maka, Crona, and the weapons were supposed to gradutate from the DWMA, the eight of them were kidnapped, and Black Star, Maka and Soul all died, despite Kid's attempt to save them, just after Kid and Soul were able to say how they felt about each other.
Kid took over the DWMA after they graduated, and became an immortal shinigami. Liz and Patty took over Spirit's job, and Tsubaki and Crona became teachers. Not a day goes by when those five don't think about the missing three of them. Kid still holds onto his feelings for Soul, Tsubaki still feels the same way about Black Star, and Crona slowly started turning into his old self, not knowing how to handle anything, without Maka there, when he realized how he felt.
The last thing Soul remembered before he woke up was the pain in his lungs from not being able to breathe for so long, and how close him and Maka had been to escaping the tank they drowned in. He finds Black Star and Maka at the DWMA, and the sudden realization that they really were all dead fell on all three of them when they went to the school, but nobody could see them.
How are the three of them going to find their way home, where everyone can see them? And if they do, what will happen to Kid?
