PROBABLY CLICHE, SOMEWHAT, JUST A WARNING
(also sorry for how dramatic it could be in the beginning, I started this book a long time ago)
After the death of her beloved grandfather, Grace inherited the 509 acres of land which people call Delford's Ranch, named after her family's last name.
She accepts ownership of the ranch because it means a new start.
Because she needed to finish high school, she was completely ecstatic to move onto the ranch. Kids at her old school called her the Art Freak, and she was made fun of for not having a life because of her hobby.
Some of the pros of moving to the ranch included starting over, peace and quiet, a huge ranch, and more walls to paint on. But the cons were leaving behind everything, a new home, losing the few friends she had, and the fact that she couldn't bring her family with her.
In the end, she promised to take care of her grandfathers ranch, and looked forward to a fresh start.
She was starting over as the new girl.

I sit down on my bike looking around the school parking lot. Listening to music, I stand up begin to walk through the student-less parking lot. Honestly, it's not like I meant to be late. My music cut out causing me to hear a whistle. I stop in my tracks and pull my headphones down to my neck. Turning around, I seen a group of men with one guy who just smirked at me. I look at all the men in the group who had their jaws dropped, all except for one, "Touch me one more time, and I'll brake your arm in two." I stand and kick his back so he falls on the concert. "Anyone else?" they stare at me blankly. "Didn't think so." When fuck boy tries to get up, I take my foot and slam him back down. Looking back at the boys, I say, "Later boys." An Unexpected Moment
... that changes everything Sarah was starting her junior year of high school. Looking at herself in the mirror, she saw a pretty average blonde haired, blue eyed, teenager. She was neither in the popular group, nor one of the many cliched outsiders. Sarah was a nobody. She liked to blend in and lay low. It was her way out of not only this town, but her house. No one knew it, but her father was a high functioning alcoholic that often took his anger out on his family. With her older sister now in college, it had turned to her more often. Laying low in general was a good strategy. Across town, Ryan was prepping for his final year in high school. While he wasn't the stereotypical quarterback of the football team, he did fit into the popular crowd. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either. It might be a cliché romance, but it will be fun to see what the year and beyond holds. ------------------------------------------ This is a story I wrote years ago, or at least partially wrote.
