For sixteen-year-old Harvey Whitlow, the victory of the Allied Forces meant that the factories where his parents used to work were closed down. His family had no choice but to move back to his father's hometown, father from the city than he'd ever been.
At first, his Aunt Eliza is welcoming, and her wealthy, generally absent husband means accommodating room and board. They have warm water and home cooked meals - but nothing comes without a price. Slapped with the label 'foreigner,' he is ignored by most of the townspeople and blacklisted from the only school there.
As Harvey is slowly accepted into a strange group he stumbles upon in the woods, he begins to realize that there's something sinister lurking in the inhabitants, and something disturbing happening in the ancient mansions that surround the town.
