One day, while attempting a spell for Riff's birthday, she suddenly found she'd said the wrong words - and she had given herself wings!

With The Monks - a group of unicorn ponies dedicated to finding Alicorns - chasing her, trying to reveal that she was an alicorn, Novella and Riff were forced to flee their home in Trottingham and go to the one place Novella thought she'd find help: Ponyville.
