The story of a young man on a personal quest turned bounty hunter at the ends of the wild west era. In the year 1914, after two years of traveling and starving on his own the Stranger decides to start bringing in criminals, dead or alive, for reward money in order to stay alive and feed himself as he continues in search for someone. After it becomes a way of life for him, the Stranger bags in Drew "Snake" Briggs, a particularly large, live bounty, one set by a senator of Texas himself, for the murder of his wife. Things get more complicated when the Stranger is told that he is to take the criminal to the senator himself, something that isn't going to be made easy by Snake's former partners in crime.
