The Adventures Of That Particular Group: Start Of Their Adventure (#Wattys2016)
Imagine if you had the power of the stars in your hands and the existence of a neighbouring planet depended entirely on you and your team. . . There were four people who had powers beyond imagination. One had weaponry, one had memory, another had teleportation and the last had gatherance. It might be hard to believe, but those four were set on a journey to save a neighbouring planet. The journey might change their fate and turn things around. Would they be able to make it, or would they lose everything that they once had? What discoveries would they make, and what would they have to do with them? Post Plague Kidnapping - Published!
It's been five years since the plague struck. Leah knows there are other survivors, but she's avoiding them. She is doing just fine on her own. Surviving after everyone she knew died has made her physically strong and honed her intelligence, but she is emotionally devastated. There is nothing to fear if you don't make yourself emotionally vulnerable. James has spent the last five years helping to build up a colony of survivors. He believes in the small town they have populated and its mission to save humanity from extinction. He and his small team of men find scattered people and bring them in. Over the last two centuries, women have fought for and won more and more rights, gaining equality with men. Society, law, and technology bolsters and enforces these rights, but now they are gone. Women's equality with men is over. There are just too few of them. They aren't lesser but greater, more important, more valuable than men. Men are expendable. Men can stay outside alone if they like, but all women must be brought inside the safety of the Colony and properly taken care of. James has been searching the area Leah lives in. Her time of solitude is up. Leah sparks something in James he's never felt before. He's not letting this one get away, certainly not twice. In the far off reaches of the galaxy there exists a behemoth of power, appropriately named Queen. She rules an army of harbored aliens whilst conquering any world she comes across to try and expand her control and rule the entire universe. In this first written journey she has a mission that requires the assistance of others, mainly Rebecca and shapeshifting alien woman whose dream is to see as much of the world as she can! Together these two alongside some other cohorts may come to realize what they really need is closer than they imagined. They might even find it in each other. This mission involves negotiating peace while avoiding a horrible bounty hunter after Queens head whilst also struggling with surprising feelings of romance! Hope you enjoy!Complete
