What would happen if the lawyer had come back after 5 years of plaguing serenity? Would the lawyer seek revenge, or would he stick by his word?
ATTENTION!! : This is a sequel to a story called The Bet by Anton Chekov. I have no affiliation with the author or the original story. I highly recommend you read the first story before diving into mine!

"Richard." I gasped. "You thought you'd seen the last of me." he said. I was too scared to say anything. The Lawyer's Fairy Tale
Sofia Orsini always adored the stories her mother used to tell her. Fairy tales about princesses, princes and the knight in shining armour that would swoop in save the day slaying the villain. She dreamed of the day her prince would come in and save her from her life of loneliness. Growing up in a poor neighbourhood outside of Venice Italy, both of Sofia's parents worked around the clock to give her the life she deserved. As she grew up she slowly learned that no prince was coming to save her, and she had to save herself. Using everything she had she boarded a plane and landed in NYC to pursue her passion career. A career where she could help, be respected and frankly make a fuck ton of money - lawyer. But going to law school has a high price tag, so when her tuition bill comes due and she's short, she preservers. Putting herself up for a date at an auction, she never expected to meet her knight in shining armour. Let alone for it to be her arrogant, workaholic, 6'4 hot Italian boss. COMPLETED✅ The punishment for murder is the death penalty, what about love? "Innocent until proven otherwise" Does this apply to matters of the heart? A story in which a lawyer ends up defending an inmate convicted of rape and second degree murder- that he claims he never did. Is he guilty? Is he innocent? Most importantly, is it morally acceptable to fall in love with an alleged murderer and rapist, let alone a client of hers? ❣️❣️❣️ Excerpt: When his shirt is dangling from his hand with him lifting it up towards his face to wear it, I snatch it from his hands. Throw it on the table beside me and grab his neck with one hand and my other traces his defined abs, and kiss him with full force. I thought he might pull away, saying he doesn't feel the same way towards me and I'm just his lawyer. That we're adults and need to refrain from acting like hormonally-driven teenagers. On the contrary -to my surprise - he kisses me back with the same amount of intensity and passion. One hand is on the side of my face and the other is holding me by the waist. We both taste like waffles and fresh strawberries and it's not something to complain about. Only when we're both out of breaths, we pull away, he smiles against me "What was that for?"
