Some say death is the end. For for these teenagers, it's only the beginning.

When you die, your soul descends into the Fallen World a.k.a Hell / the Underworld. While we live up on the Risen World, a.k.a. Earth.

There people with gifts. Gifts that break the border between life and death. Gifts that allow them to speak with those who have moved on from their bodies, gifts that raise the dead and even gifts that make them immune to the touch of death.

Lazarus Orpheus was just an ordinary jock at his school. Hated by his team. An outcast from the world, mostly because all his life he has been able to heal people. Make lifeless things move. Give things breath.

Mortem Lampade was an outcast from his own family. The weirdo. The freak. The odd one out. The black sheep. Mostly because he is locked up in his room talking to his deceased mother. And his dead brother.

Diana Sanctus was the most beautiful girl in the orphanage. The fairest. The comeliest. The youngest. But with that came the burden of envy from the other kids, even her own friends. She is twisted by her hopeless romance and loneliness.

Hecate Inferos, well, Catie, as she is known amongst her neighbours. Keeps to herself. Locked up in her home, looking after a paralysed mother and being tied up with the wrong kind of people, mostly her drug-infatuated boyfriend. She will soon find out she is more special than she ever thought.

These teens will soon find out that they are more powerful than they ever thought. Their destinies intertwine. When they enter a sacred institution for their kind. When they hear tears from the grave.

Death isn't the end. But it isn't the beginning either.

OF KINGS AND PAWNS

84 parts Complete

Ray is low on time, luck, and hope; his only chance is an artifact that may not even exist. But upon meeting Landon, Ray is beginning to believe he might find all four. ***** Cambions are doomed to tragedy. They are weak, sickly creatures that rarely live to see their twentieth year. Ray refuses to resign himself to that fate. Upon learning of the Crimson Sheath-an artifact capable of preserving his life-Ray is prepared to fight, steal, and kill to get his hands on it. He is not prepared for Landon. Landon is an orphan with no memories of his parents, the only inheritance left to him a dagger, sleeping in a crimson sheath. Though he has no love of bloodshed and no use for a dagger, Landon isn't about to let Ray take his only link to his forgotten history, even if that means following the cambion past the edge of the world and into the shadow beyond.
