Lucius Malfoy has been fatally ill for months. He's so ill, in fact, he's forbidden anyone to help take care of him. Draco's tried everything he can to reach out to his father- but with no luck.

Meanwhile, Hogwarts sweethearts Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley finally reach a bump in their relationship-one that's too challenging for either of them to overcome and resolve. 

Through certain events, a few things become clear: Sometimes, the people who you expect to tear you to pieces are the ones who make you stronger. And sometimes the people you love are the ones who hurt you the most.

* Takes place post- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Draco's father, Lucius Malfoy, had been send to Azkaban for all the things he had done and both Narcissa and Draco were lucky enough not to go with him, they got a second chance, under strict rules, from the Ministry for Magic. Harry and Ginny were still together and their relationship was better than ever. Hermione and Ron were still together as well, but the war had started to make Hermione think. Workers of the Ministry for Magic had been send out to find Hermione's parents and when they had found them in Australia, they had brought them to the Ministry where they undid Hermione's memory-erase spell on them. Hermione had gone back home to be with her parents, Harry had gone with Ginny and Ron back to the Weasley's home and Draco Malfoy had returned to the cold and dark Malfoy Manor with his mother. But lately, he's been rude and almost cruel towards Harry and Hermione. And when they arrive at Hogwarts, Ron starts acting possessive and abusive. Hermione was going to tell someone, but as much as she hated to admit it, she's clueless. She's hurting physically and emotionally. And worst of all, she's scared. She's backed into a corner and has no one to run to. Or does she?
