The Chosen 7
(From the World of Azur Lane....with a bit of Inspiration from Invincible and a few characters from Orville....and Space Force) The Earth was in crisis mode, an unknown Alien Race has attacked and destroyed a far flung Research Station about 3 Light Years away. To prevent further loss of life and to fight this threat, Humanity once more turned to the KAN-SEN program, managing to scrounge up 7 active Wisdom Cubes from deep storage to fight the threat. These 7 Cubes formed 7 Space Going KAN-SEN who had a very tall order in front of them, identify the assailants, stop the attacks, and bring a lasting peace to the universe. Unbeknownst to anyone involved however, 2 of these KAN-SEN were not pleased with serving human masters.

Survival in space was our only option. The dying earth and its sickly inhabitants forced us to flee to the stars. My father, the commander of the elite group chosen to live amongst the stars, brought me along for the journey. And everything was going smoothly until I unexpectedly woke up on a new planet, one with an ethereal glow and an eerie resemblance to our old home as the commander of the military space force, my father tasked his men with exploring this new world. But what they discovered was far from welcoming. This new planet was already inhabited by terrifying creatures, and they were not happy with our presence. His men fought to survive against these beasts, I couldn't help but wonder why they were so hostile towards us. That's when one of them approached me, defying everything we had been warned about. Instead of attacking, it watched me pick flowers before later saving me from a fiery blast. Now it's my turn to save him. Please read the prologue in the beginning before going to Chapter 1. I know a lot of people skip Prologues, however, it has important information that will give you a better understanding of what's going on in other chapters. Feel free to comment and vote. "You really care about her, don't you?" Tom said, but the commander didn't answer. So Tom clarified his statement. "The Captain, I mean." "I have the utmost respect and admiration for Captain Janeway." Chakotay's response had been a long time coming. "Yeah, that too..." Tom threw in, as the tone of Chakotay's voice suggested the question had hit a little too close to home. Tom paused momentarily, mulling over what to say next or whether to keep his mouth shut. He put his hand on Chakotay's shoulder. "Commander, I could be wrong but, personally, I think you're holding out on false hope. If it was me, I'd want to know for sure. Maybe even push the point. Make a move. I mean, what's the worst case scenario here? Either she's going to phaser you, or she's going to..." "Consider yourself relieved, Lieutenant!" They both jumped, startled at the sound of her voice. Inwardly, Tom wondered how long the captain might have been standing behind him, while he tried to remember the last few words of his conversation with Chakotay. SYMBOLS or more informally "Why the heck Chakotay chose Seven of Nine when, previously, he wanted to throw her out the nearest airlock" is a work of fanfiction. It sticks to canon and is an ensemble piece, but focuses on Janeway and Chakotay predominantly. Paramount and Pocket Books own everything Star Trek - no copyright breaches intended. I just took the characters out for a play. Literary agent sent most of this to Pocket Books in 1998, but they didn't want it. I have a sweet rejection letter! So it's mine now. A couple of re-writes since then to relocate it in Season 7 and add Chapter 1 and the Epilogue.
